Dr Ruhel Alam is the principal dentist at Castle Bromwich Dental Care and the most skilled clinician at the practice, with over 20 years of dedicated service caring for generations of local patients.

He qualified from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in 2002 and, having grown up in Birmingham, has always maintained a strong connection to the community he serves.

Dr Alam provides comprehensive general dentistry with a particular focus on Denplan care, preventive dentistry, and facial aesthetics. He is known for his calm, reassuring approach and his ability to build long-term relationships with patients and families, many of whom he has treated for decades. As Practice Principal, he is passionate about maintaining high clinical standards while ensuring the practice remains friendly, ethical, and welcoming.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Alam plays a key role in training the next generation of dentists. He is actively involved in foundation training as an Educational Supervisor, mentoring newly qualified dentists and sharing his extensive experience to support their professional development. Teaching and leadership are central to his role, and he takes great pride in helping young clinicians grow in confidence and skill.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Alam enjoys travelling and exploring the outdoors, particularly hiking—usually as a way to offset his enthusiasm for good food along the way. He is highly active and enjoys playing football and squash, and has most recently taken up padel, where enthusiasm currently outweighs technique (though improvement is ongoing). His active lifestyle and sense of humour are often reflected in his relaxed, approachable manner with patients.
